A Message was brought from the House of Commons with a Bill C-12, An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (Part II) in respect of occupational health and safety, to make technical amendments to the Canada Labour Code (Part I) and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, to which they desire the concurrence of the Senate.The Bill was read the first time.
The Honourable Senator Hays moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Wiebe, that the Bill be placed on the Orders of the Day for a second reading two days hence.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
Presentation of Petitions
The Honourable Senator Losier-Cool presented petitions:Of Généalogie Tracadie Inc. of the Province of New Brunswick concerning the Statistics Act (census records).
