The Honourable Senator Meighen, for the Honourable Senator Kenny, Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence, presented its Seventh Report (budget—study on the health care provided to veterans).

That the Senate of Canada celebrates with all Canadians the 250th anniversary of Canada's first published newspaper, the Halifax Gazette, the publication of which on March 23, 1752 marked the beginning of the newspaper industry in Canada which contributes so much to Canada's strong and enduring democratic traditions

Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources

The name of the Honourable Senator Christensen substituted for that of the Honourable Senator Watt (May 29).

The names of the Honourable Senators Callbeck and Mahovlich substituted for that of the Honourable Senators Christensen and Kenny (May 30).
