The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry has the honour to present its

THIRD REPORT

Your Committee, was authorized by the Senate on February 16, 2004 to examine the issues related to the development and marketing of value-added agricultural, agri-food and forest products, on the domestic and international markets, respectfully requests that it be empowered to engage the services of such counsel and technical, clerical and other personnel as my be necessary.

Pursuant to Section 2:07 of the Procedural Guidelines for the Financial Operations of Senate Committees, the Budget submitted to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration and the report of said Committee are appended to this report.

ORDER OF REFERENCE

Extract from the Journals of the Senate, Monday, February 16, 2004

The Honourable Senator Oliver moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator LeBreton:

That the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry be authorized to examine the issues related to the development and marketing of value-added agricultural, agri-food and forest products, on the domestic and international markets;

That the papers and evidence received and taken on the subject during the Second Session of the Thirty- seventh Parliament be referred to the Committee;

That the Committee submit its final report to the Senate no later than June 30, 2004, and that the Committee retain until July 31, 2004 all powers necessary to publicize its findings.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
