The Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce met at 11:00 a.m. this day, in room 505, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Kolber, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Banks, Bolduc, Gill, Gustafson, Kelleher, P.C., Kolber, Kroft, Meighen, Setlakwe and Tkachuk (10).
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch, Library of Parliament, Law and Government Division: Mr. Geoff Kieley, Research Officer.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-23, An Act to amend the Competition Act and the Competition Tribunal Act.

Mr. Bob MacMinn, Executive Vice-President.
From the Association québécoise des indépendants du pétrole (AQUIP):
Mr. René Blouin, President-Executive Director;
Mr. Pierre Crevier, President, Pétroles Crevier inc.; Member, Economic Affairs Committee.
Mr. MacMinn from CIPMA and Mr. Blouin and Mr. Crevier from AQUIP made opening statements and with Mr. Collins answered questions.
The committee continued its proceedings in camera.
The committee agreed to the following budget for legislation for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2003:
