The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met at 5:47 p.m., this day, in Room 705, Victoria Building, the Chairman, the Honourable Senator Murray presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cools, Finnerty, Ferretti Barth, Fraser, Murray, P.C. and Stratton (6).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Moore (1).
In attendance: Mr. Guy Beaumier, Research Officer, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

David W. Strangway, President and CEO.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on June 13, 2001, the committee continued its examination of the role of government in the financing of deferred maintenance costs in Canada's post-secondary institutions.
Mr. Arbuckle made an opening statement and with Mr. South answered questions from members of the committee.
Mr. Strangway made an opening statement and answered questions from members of the committee.
