The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs met this day at 12:02p.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Jean-Guy Dagenais, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boniface, Dagenais, McIntyre and Richards (4).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Griffin and Wallin (2).

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Monday, February1, 2016, the committee continued its study on the services and benefits provided to members of the Canadian Forces; to veterans; to members and former members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and their families. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the subcommittee, IssueNo. 1.)

Topic: The repercussions of the recent changes in ministers at the head of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Royal Canadian Legion:

Thomas D. Irvine, Dominion President;

Steven Clark, Director of Corporate Services;

Nujma Bond, Manager, Corporate Communications.

The chair made a statement.

Ms.Vaillancourt and Mr.Irvine each made a statement and, together with Mr.Clark and Ms. Bond, answered questions.

At 1:04 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
