The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 4:03 p.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Ratna Omidvar, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bovey, Cordy, Dasko, Kutcher, Lankin, P.C., Martin, Moodie, Omidvar, Patterson, Petitclerc and Verner, P.C. (11).

Participating in the meeting: Joëlle Nadeau, Principal Clerk, Committees Directorate; Laura Blackmore, Analyst, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its study of matters relating to social affairs, science and technology generally. (Topic: The Role of Gender-based Analysis Plus in the Policy Process).

Melanie Omeniho, Lisa J. Smith and Gerri Fletcher each made a statement and, together with Amanda Fletcher, answered questions.

At 5:01 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 5:02 p.m., the committee resumed.

Sarah Kaplan and Wendy Cukier each made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:59 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
