Pursuant to the order of the Senate of May 5, 2022, the Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, and with videoconference, at 6:30 p.m. ET, the chair, the Honourable Leo Housakos, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Clement, Cormier, Dasko, Klyne, Miville-Dechêne, Quinn and Simons (7).
Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Dawson, Housakos and Sorensen (3).
Participating in the meeting: Martine Willox, Legislative Clerk and Brigitte Martineau, Administrative Assistant, Committees Directorate; Khamla Heminthavong and Jed Chong, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its study on the impacts of climate change on critical infrastructure in the transportation and communications sectors and the consequential impacts on their interdependencies.

Canadian Pacific Railway:
Glen Wilson, Managing Director, Environmental Risk.
Chantale Després, Rahim Karmali and Glen Wilson each made a statement and answered questions.
At 8 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 8:03 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft report.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, April 28, 2022, the committee continued its examination of the subject matter of those elements contained in Part 10 of Bill S-6, An Act respecting regulatory modernization.
It was agreed that the draft report be adopted, and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final version of the report, taking into consideration this meeting’s discussions, and with any necessary editorial, grammatical and translation changes required.
It was agreed that the chair be authorized to table the report in the Senate at the earliest opportunity.
At 8:25 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
