Ottawa – The Senate will sit on Monday, July 27, 2020, at 12 p.m. It is anticipated that the Senate will meet for the consideration of measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whenever the Senate stands adjourned, it can be recalled by the Speaker if this is deemed to be in the public interest.

The health, safety and well-being of all Canadians remains the priority of the Senate, which has taken preventative and proactive measures to ensure that senators and staff are protected in this regard. In keeping with previous recalls of the Senate, measures have been put in place to protect all those involved in Chamber operations, including minimizing the number of employees required to work on-site to support the sitting.

The Senate will continue to broadcast proceedings via ParlVU and to live-tweet key information about debates in the Chamber.
