Monday, January 20, 2020 – Senator Marilou McPhedran visits the University of Alberta as part of its Student Leaders week to speak to students about increasing youth engagement with Canada’s Parliament.

Tuesday, January 21, 2020 — Senators Marie-Françoise Mégie, Frances Lankin, Mary Coyle and Julie Miville-Dechêne accompany some of the new parliamentarians at Rideau Hall for a discussion with Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette on the role of the general.

Wednesday, January 22, 2020 — Senators Peter M. Boehm (left), Frances Lankin (centre) and Diane Bellemare (right) participate in a panel discussion as part of an orientation session for new parliamentarians. The two-day orientation was organized by Carleton University’s Initiative for Parliamentary and Diplomatic Engagement.

Sunday, January 26, 2020 — Senator Paula Simons joins other public officials at Lunar New Year celebrations in Edmonton.

Thursday, January 30, 2020 — Senator Pierre J. Dalphond meets with members of the Islamic Cultural Center of Québec City (the Great Mosque of Québec City) to pay tribute to the victims of the mosque shooting on January 29, 2017.

Friday, January 31, 2020 — Senator Paula Simons speaks about the spiritual iconography of Edmonton with theology students at King’s University in London, Ontario.

Monday, February 3, 2020 — Senator Julie Miville-Dechêne speaks with University of Ottawa students about the relationship between journalists and politicians. A former journalist herself, the senator explained how she navigates in this context and took the opportunity to answer questions from students.

January 31, 2020 – Senator Pierre J. Dalphond presents the major changes made to the Divorce Act to lawyers of the Association des familialistes de Québec in Québec City.

Friday, February 7, 2020 — Senator Wanda Thomas Bernard meets members of the University of Ottawa Black Law Students’ Association. Senator Bernard spoke about the intersectionality of power and privilege at a conference organized by the association.

Sunday, February 9, 2020 — Senator Brian Francis poses with Canadian singers and songwriters Catherine MacLellan (left) and Tara MacLean (right) at the Music PEI awards ceremony in Charlottetown. Senator Francis was invited to present an award during the ceremony.
