Dalphond participates in a workshop on family violence organized by the Fédération des associations de juristes d’expression française de common law (FAJEF) and the Association internationale francophone des intervenants auprès des familles séparées (AIFI). Senator Dalphond discussed aspects of the amended Divorce Act relating to domestic violence with more than 200 participants from across Canada.

Thursday, September 30, 2021 – Senator Brian Francis participates in a flag lowering ceremony, followed by two minutes of silence, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on the inaugural National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Senator Francis was humbled to be recognized for the small role he played in sponsoring the legislation to establish this day, which is a direct response to Call to Action 80 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s report.

This is the third year P.E.I has officially commemorated the treaties signed between the Mi’kmaq and the Crown in the 1700s to end hostilities and promote peace and friendship.
