Monday, April 11, 2022—Students at Clarence Sansom School in Calgary, Alberta welcome Senator Paula Simons during an event organized by SENgage. The senator spoke about current bills in the Senate, misinformation and pandemic response and recovery.
Tuesday, April 12, 2022—Senator Rosemary Moodie launches her collaborative, youth-centred report, A Look into Our Thoughts: A Collaborative Initiative on the Creation of a Commissioner for Canada’s Children and Youth. This report follows a year of consultations with hundreds of children and youth across Canada. It recommends the creation of a new commissioner to represent youth voices in federal decision-making. Parliamentarians and stakeholders attended the report launch, and speakers included the Hon. Landon Pearson, a former senator.
Wednesday, April 13, 2022—Senator Julie Miville-Dechêne speaks with students from the Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue during a SENgage event. Their discussions covered the role of the Senate, Senator Miville-Dechêne’s previous journalism career and her bill on reporting forced labour in supply chains.
Wednesday, April 20, 2022—Senator Paula Simons attends the unveiling of five plaques recognizing Alberta’s military history in Edmonton’s Light Horse Park, sponsored by the local Dutch Canadian community. Senator Simons joined the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands Jerry Bouma and Edmonton City Councillor Karen Principe.

ISOW is an initiative that brings students, staff, and faculty together to enable students from conflict zones to study in safety and security in Canada.
Sunday, May 1, 2022—Senator Victor Oh meets with Cdr Paul Smith, Commander of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) York, during an event commemorating the Battle of the Atlantic at the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve Division in Toronto, Ontario. The Battle of the Atlantic has been described as the longest, largest, and most complex military campaign in the Second World War.
Monday, May 2, 2022—Interns with the Manitoba Legislative Assembly Internship Program speak with Senator Mary Jane McCallum during their virtual tour of the Senate of Canada to learn more about the institution and senators’ day-to-day work. This event was organized by SENgage.
