Wednesday, May 10, 2023 – Senator Rosa Galvez, top right, participates in a call for the Waves of Change 2023 Climate Manifesto Presentation hosted by the Centre for Global Education. Three youth co-authors shared their main ideas, and Senator Galvez and the other panellists shared their thoughts and reactions to the presentation, as well as words of encouragement and inspiration.
Wednesday, May 10, 2023 — Senator Salma Ataullahjan meet with Grade 10 students at Hillcrest High School in Ottawa, Ontario, during a visit organized by SENgage. Senator Ataullahjan discussed the work of the Senate and her role as a senator. She also encouraged the students to get involved in politics.

Monday, May 15, 2023 – Senator Marty Deacon, top right, meets virtually with Grade 11 students enrolled in the Global Perspectives program at Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie, Ontario. During the meeting, organized by SENgage, Senator Deacon shared her journey to the Red Chamber and provided insights into her day-to-day life and work as a senator. She also explained the process of passing bills and answered questions from the students.
Monday, May 15, 2023 – Senator Lucie Moncion, left, joins virtually a Grade 12 class studying Canadian and international politics at Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie, Ontario. During the session, co-ordinated by SENgage, she discussed her path to the Senate, and her role and responsibilities as a senator. She also engaged students in a discussion about Bill S-201, An Act to amend the Canada Elections Act and the Regulation Adapting the Canada Elections Act for the Purposes of a Referendum (voting age), and participated in a question-and-answer period.

Greg Peters, right, welcomes students from the University of Michigan-Dearborn participating in their school’s Ottawa Internship Program to the Senate Chamber. As part of a visit organized by SENgage, the students learned about the historic role of the Usher.
Wednesday, May 17, 2023 – Students from the University of Michigan-Dearborn participating in their school’s Ottawa Internship Program meet with Senator Peter M. Boehm during a visit to the Senate of Canada Building organized by SENgage. Participants learned about the history and role of the Senate and discussed the relationship between Canada and the United States. Senator Boehm also shared his experience as a former foreign service officer.
