On Wednesday, March 1, 2017 journalists Robert Fife, Waubgeshig Rice and Marie Vastel will engage in a lively panel discussion entitled “Politics via Social Media.”

Senator Chantal Petitclerc is a 14-time Paralympic gold medalist. As someone who has functional limitations herself, she has a good understanding of the needs of various minority communities and ensures their voices are heard. She currently sits on the Committee of Social Affairs, Science and Technology, and the Committee on Agriculture and Forestry, and she represents the division of Grandville in Quebec.
Biographies of panelists
Robert Fife is The Globe and Mail's Ottawa Bureau Chief. He is the former Ottawa Bureau Chief of CTV National News and host of CTV's Question Period. He has covered national politics since 1978, has won many awards for his journalism, and he is also the author of several books.
Waubgeshig Rice is a journalist and author originally from Wasauksing First Nation in Ontario. He works as a TV, radio and web journalist for CBC Ottawa. His second novel, Moon of the Crusted Snow, will be published in 2018. His passion for storytelling is strongly rooted in his Anishinaabe heritage.
Marie Vastel has been covering Parliament Hill for close to a decade. She started her career with the french wire service of The Canadian Press, before becoming a parliamentary correspondent for Le Devoir in 2011. She covers a broad range of issues including defence, immigration, the Senate and social issues. She also contributes political analysis on CBC NewsNetwork, CBC Radio and Radio-Canada.
