The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met at 10:30 a.m. this day, in Room 356-S, the Honourable Senator Stratton, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Stratton, Bolduc, Cools, Ferretti Barth and Lavoie-Roux (5).

In attendance: Mr. Guy Beaumier, Research Branch, Library of Parliament.

WITNESS:

From the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs:

Mr. Guy Y. Goulard, Commissioner.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 18, 1998, the committee continued its examination of the Main Estimates laid before Parliament for the fiscal year ending March 31, 1999.

Mr. Goulard made a statement and answered questions.

At a later date, Mr. Goulard will provide written responses to questions asked by committee members.

At 12:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
