The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, met this day in Room 257, East Block, at 3:45 p.m., the Honourable Lorna Milne, Chair, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Beaudoin, Bryden, Buchanan, P.C., Fraser, Grafstein, Joyal, P.C., Milne and Pearson (9).
In attendance: David Goetz and Nancy Holmes, Research Officers, Research Branch, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, December 10, 1998, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-40, An Act respecting extradition, to amend the Canada Evidence Act, the Criminal Code, the Immigration Act and the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Act and to amend and repeal other Acts in consequence.
