The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs met this day, at 11:07 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the Honourable George J. Furey, Chair, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beaudoin, Bryden, Buchanan, P.C., Cools, Furey, Jaffer, Joyal, P.C., Nolin and Smith, P.C. (9).
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Holmes.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 27, 2003, the committee continued its study of Bill S-12, An Act to repeal legislation that has not been brought into force within ten years of receiving royal assent.
