The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day, at 9:02 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Day, Dickson, Eggleton, P.C., Finley, Gerstein, Lang, Marshall, Murray, P.C., Ringuette, Rompkey, P.C., and Runciman (12).

In attendance: Lydia Scratch and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Francine Pressault, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 10, 2010, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-9, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 4, 2010 and other measures. Ms. Wessels made a presentation and, together with Mr. Kendall and Ms. Lafleur, answered questions.

At 11:04 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 11:13 a.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. Jennings made a presentation and, together with Messrs. Khosla, Cameron and Steedman, answered questions.

At 11:58 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
