The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day, at 9:07 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Day, Dickson, Finley, Gerstein, MacDonald, Marshall, Mitchell, Murray, P.C., Neufeld, Peterson, Ringuette and Runciman (13).

In attendance: Lydia Scratch and June Dewetering, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Francine Pressault, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 10, 2010, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-9, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 4, 2010 and other measures. At 11:18 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 11:24 a.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. Poschmann made a presentation and answered questions.

At 12 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the committee resumed.

Ms. Pohlmann and Mr. Laurin each made a presentation and, together with Mr. Dawkins, answered questions.

At 1:02 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
