The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communication met this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Dawson, Housakos, Johnson, MacDonald, Martin, Mercer, Merchant and Zimmer (9).
In attendance: Dean Ruffilli, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; and Mona Ishack, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, the committee continued its study on emerging issues related to the Canadian airline industry. (For complete text of order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)
WITNESSES:
Canadian Tourism Commission:
Michele McKenzie, President and CEO;
Greg Klassen, Senior Vice-President, Marketing Strategy and Communications.
The chair made opening statement.
Ms. McKenzie made a statement and, together with Mr. Klassen, answered questions.
At 11:05 a.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
