The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 6:30 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Hubley, Maltais, Manning, McInnis, Poirier, Raine, Robichaud, P.C., Watt and Wells (9).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Beyak (1).
In attendance: Odette Madore, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, the committee continued to examine issues relating to the regulation of aquaculture in Canada and future prospects for the industry. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 14.)

Eric Gilbert, Executive Director, Aquaculture Operations, Ecosystems and Aquaculture Management;
Jay Parsons, Director, Strategic and Regulatory Science Directorate, Ecosystems and Oceans Science Sector.
Mr. Beaupré, Mr. Gilbert and Mr. Parsons answered questions.
