The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met in camera this day at 4:17 p.m., in room 705, Victoria Building, the chair, Honourable Kelvin K. Ogilvie, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Campbell, Champagne, P.C., Cordy, Demers, Eaton, Eggleton, P.C., Hubley, Mercer, Ogilvie, Seidman, Seth and Verner, P.C. (13).

In attendance: Karin Phillips and Brian O'Neal, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 23, 2011, the committee continued its study on the progress in implementing the 2004 10-Year Plan to Strengthen Health Care. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 3.)

Pursuant to rule 92(2)(f), the committee considered a draft report.

It was moved that the committee allow the transcription of today's in camera meeting, that one copy be kept in the office of the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members present and the committee analysts, and that the transcript be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure but no later than at the end of this parliametary session.

After debate, the question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

At 4:33 p.m., the Honourable Senator Campbell replaced the Honourable Senator Cordy as a member of the committee.

At 6:05 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
