The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Dawson, Doyle, Eggleton, P.C., Greene, Housakos, MacDonald, Mercer, Merchant, Runciman and Verner, P.C. (11).

In attendance: Alexandre Lavoie and Zachary Alaoui, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, the committee continued its consideration on emerging issues related to the Canadian airline industry. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)

WITNESS:

Air France KLM in Canada:

Fabien Pelous, Vice-President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Pelous made an opening statement answered questions.

At 7:20 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:22 p.m., the committee resumed.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, the committee continued its consideration of the subject-matter of those elements contained in Division 5, 12 and 20 of Part 4 of Bill C-45, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 12.)

David Bradley, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Bradley made an opening statement answered questions.

At 7:52 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
