The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 1:09 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Dagenais, Maltais, Mercer, Mockler, Ogilvie, Oh, Plett, Poirier, Robichaud, P.C., and Tardif (11).
In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; and Mona Ishack, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, May 14, 2014, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-30, An Act to amend the Canada Grain Act and the Canada Transportation Act and to provide for other measures.

Mr. Pellerin and Mr. Hemmes each made opening statements and, together with Mr. McFadden, answered questions.
At 2:22 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 2:27 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Tweed and Mr. Eshpeter each made opening statements and, together, answered questions.
At 3:10 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 3:15 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Mongeau and Mr. Taylor each made opening statements and, together, answered questions.
At 4:16 p.m., the Honourable Senator Poirier replaced the Honourable Senator Beyak as a member of the committee.
At 4:20 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 4:27 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. White and Mr. Enns each made opening statements and, together, answered questions.
At 5:08 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
