The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce met this day at 4:17 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Irving Gerstein, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Black, Gerstein, Greene, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Maltais, Massicotte, Meredith, Ringuette and Tannas (10).
In attendance: Adriane Yong and Michaël Lambert-Racine, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 14, 2015, the committee continued its examination of the subject matter of those elements contained in Divisions 14 and 19 of Part 3 of Bill C-59, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 21, 2015 and other measures.

Frank Zinatelli, Vice President and General Counsel (by video conference).
Canadian Bankers Association:
Bill Randle, Deputy General Counsel (by video conference);
Darren Hannah, Acting Vice President, Finance, Risk, and Prudential Policy (by video conference).
Mr. Zinatelli and Mr. Randle each made a statement and, together with Mr. Hannah, answered questions.
At 5:07 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
