Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator Boisvenu, seconded by the Honourable Senator Beyak, for the second reading of Bill C-452, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (exploitation and trafficking in persons).

After debate,

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

The bill was then read the second time.

The Honourable Senator Boisvenu moved, seconded by the Honourable Senator Beyak, that the bill be referred to the Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs.

Resuming debate on the motion of the Honourable Senator McIntyre, seconded by the Honourable Senator McInnis, for the second reading of Bill C-47, An Act to correct certain anomalies, inconsistencies and errors and to deal with other matters of a non-controversial and uncomplicated nature in the Statutes of Canada and to repeal certain provisions that have expired, lapsed or otherwise ceased to have effect.
