The Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages met this day at 5:20 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Claudette Tardif, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Champagne, P.C., Chaput, Charette-Poulin, Fortin-Duplessis, McIntyre, Poirier and Tardif (8).
In attendance: Marie-Ève Hudon, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 21, 2013, the committee continued its study on the impacts of recent changes to the immigration system on official language minority communities. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)

The minister made a presentation and, with Ms. St-Amand, answered questions.
At 6:17 p.m., the committee was suspended.
At 6:20 p.m., the committee resumed.

At 6:54 p.m., the committee was suspended.
At 6:58 p.m., the committee resumed.
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), of the Rules of the Senate, the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
At 7:17 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
