The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera this day at 5:10 p.m., in room 505, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Hubley, Manning, McIntyre, Meredith, Munson, Raine, Stewart Olsen and Wells (9).

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013, the committee its study on the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges and future prospects for the industry in Canada. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered draft agenda (future business).

It was agreed that Messrs. Gary Hooper, Chief Executive Officer of Aquaculture New Zealand, and Mr. Robert Orr, representing the aquaculture firm Cuna del Mar, be invited to appear before the Committee on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, in the context of the study on aquaculture.

At 6:02 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
