The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 4:38 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Chaput, Eggleton, P.C., Enverga, Frum, Nancy Ruth, Ogilvie, Raine, Seidman, Stewart Olsen and Wallace (10).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Demers (1).
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-247, An Act to provide that the Department of Employment and Social Development is the main point of contact with the Government of Canada in respect of the death of a Canadian citizen or resident.
