The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 1 p.m., in Saint-Maurice Room, Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dawson, Demers, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Housakos, Joyal, P.C., Plett and Verner, P.C. (7).
In attendance: Terrence Thomas, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; Mona Ishack, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013, the committee continued its study on the challenges faced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in relation to the changing environment of broadcasting and communications. At 4:50 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
