The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met in camera this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dawson, Demers, Eggleton, P.C., Greene, Housakos, MacDonald, Maltais, Plett and Unger (9).
In attendance: Dillian Theckedath and Terrence (Terry) Thomas, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament; Karen Schwinghamer, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Monday, December 9, 2013, the committee continued its study on the challenges faced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in relation to the changing environment of broadcasting and communications. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2.)
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.
It was agreed that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to review a draft of the report before an examination by the committee.
At 10:19 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
