The Special Senate Committee on the Arctic met this day at 6:29 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Glen Patterson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bovey, Coyle, Galvez, Neufeld, Oh, Pate and Patterson (7).
In attendance: Sara Fryer and Thai Nguyen, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, the committee continued its study on the significant and rapid changes to the Arctic, and impacts on original inhabitants. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1.)
WITNESS:
Arctic Co-operatives Limited:
Duane Wilson, Vice President of Stakeholder Relations.
Mr. Wilson made a statement and answered questions.
At 7:30 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 7:35 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed:
That senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room for the in camera meeting.
It was agreed:
That the chair ask the Senate to extend the committee's order of reference for the study on the significant and rapid changes to the Arctic, and impacts on original inhabitants until September 30, 2019.
At 8:11 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
