The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day, at 9:35 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Day, Gerstein, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Marshall, Mockler, Nancy Ruth, Neufeld, Ringuette and Runciman (10).

In attendance: Édison Roy-César, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament; and Jean-Pierre Morin, Communications Officer, Communications Directorate.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 9, 2011, the committee continued its examination of the expenditures set out in the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012. WITNESSES:

Michael Ferguson, Auditor General of Canada;

Jocelyne Therrien, Senior Principal, Parliamentary and International Relations.

Office of the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner of Canada:

Mario Dion, Commissioner.

Mr. Ferguson made a statement and, together with Ms. Therrien, answered questions.

Mr. Dion made a statement and answered questions.

At 11:40 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
