The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Black, Buth, Callbeck, Chaput, Day, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Maltais, McInnis, Mockler, and Smith (Saurel) (11).
In attendance: Édison Roy-César and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 2, 2013, the committee began its examination of the subject-matter of Bill C-60, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 21, 2013 and other measures, introduced in the House of Commons on April 29, 2013.

Geoff Trueman, Director, Business Income Tax;
Sean Keenan, Director, Tax Policy Branch.
Justice Canada:
Sandra Phillips, Associate Assistant Deputy Attorney General, Assistant Deputy Attorney General's Office.
Mr. Cook made a statement and, with Mr. Trueman, Mr. Keenan and Ms. Phillips, answered questions.
At 11:33 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
