The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Black, Buth, Callbeck, Chaput, Day, Gerstein, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Smith (Saurel) and Wells (10).
In attendance: Édison Roy-César and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 23, 2013, the committee continued its examination of the expenditures set out in the Supplementary Estimates (A) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014.

Susan MacGowan, Chief Financial Officer;
Pamela D'Eon, Director General, Planning and Resource Management;
Anik Dupont, Director General, Specific Claims Branch.
Industry Canada:
Susan Bincoletto, Chief Financial Officer;
Iain Stewart, Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy Sector;
Johanne Bernard, Director General, Resource Planning and Investments Branch.
Ms. MacGowan made a statement and, together with Ms. D'Eon and Ms. Dupont, answered questions.
Ms. Bincoletto made a statement and, together with Mr. Stewart and Ms. Bernard, answered questions.
At 7:58 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 8 p.m., the committee resumed.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 2, 2013, the committee continued its examination of the subject-matter of Bill C-60, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 21, 2013 and other measures, introduced in the House of Commons on April 29, 2013. Judy Dezell, Manager, Gas Tax Implementation Project.
Ms. Dezell made a statement and answered questions.
The Honourable Senator Smith (Saurel) moved that the clerk be authorized to email password protected copies of the draft report on Supplementary Estimates (A) 2013-2014, to those committee members who so desire, others may receive hard copies in their office, on Monday, June 10, 2013, for the purpose of consideration in committee on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.
At 8:26 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
