The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:31 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Dawson, Doyle, Eggleton, P.C., Greene, MacDonald, Martin, Unger and Verner, P.C. (9).

In attendance: Terrence J. Thomas, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 3, 2012, the committee continued its examination of the subject-matter of those elements contained in Division 41 of part 4 of Bill C-38, An Act to implement certain provision of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 29, 2012 and other measures.

WITNESS:

Mr. Geist made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 10:35 a.m., the Honourable Senator Greene took the chair.

At 10:42 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
