The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Chaput, Day, Downe, Eaton, Gerstein, Mockler, Rivard, Runciman and Smith (Saurel) (10).

In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Raphaëlle Deraspe, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, the committee continued its examination of the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 8.)

WITNESSES:

The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited:

Natalie Kinloch, Chief Operating Officer;

Richard Iglinski, Corporate Comptroller.

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated:

Claude Lachance, Senior Director, Administration;

Jean-Vincent Lacroix, Director, Communications.

Infrastructure Canada:

Thao Pham, Assistant Deputy Minister, Federal Montreal Bridges.

Ms. Kinloch made a statement and, together with Mr. Iglinski, answered questions.

At 10:43 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 10:45 a.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. Lachance and Ms. Pham each made a statement and, together with Mr. Lacroix, answered questions.

At 11:25 a.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
