The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met in camera this day at 4:58 p.m., in room 705, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cordy, Eggleton, P.C., Enverga, Merchant, Nancy Ruth, Ogilvie, Seidman, Seth, Stewart Olsen and Wallace (10).

In attendance: Sonya Norris and Julie Béchard, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, October 30, 2014, the committee continued its study on the subject matter of those elements contained in Divisions 5, 7, 17, 20, and 24 of Part 4 of Bill C-43, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 11, 2014 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 23.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.

It was agreed that the report be adopted with the agreed changes and the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to approve the final version of the report.

At 5:29 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
