The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 10:30 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Raynell Andreychuk, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Ataullahjan, Cordy, Dawson, Downe, Johnson, Marshall, Ngo, Oh, Rivard and Smith (Cobourg), P.C. (11).

Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Pratte (1).

In attendance: Natalie Mychajlyszyn and Pascal Tremblay, analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, the committee continued its study on foreign relations and international trade generally. WITNESS:

Mathew Wilson, Senior Vice President, National Policy.

The chair made a statement.

Mr. Wilson made a presentation and answered questions.

At 11:15 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 11:17 a.m., the committee resumed.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, the committee continued its study on recent political and economic developments in Argentina in the context of their potential impact on regional and global dynamics, including on Canadian policy and interests, and other related matters. Mr. Miller and Ms. Arnson each made a presentation and answered questions.
