The Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples met this day at 1 p.m., in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Scott Tannas, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Coyle, Dyck, Francis, Klyne, LaBoucane-Benson, Lovelace Nicholas, McCallum, McPhedran, Ngo, Pate, Patterson and Tannas (12).
In attendance: Brittany Collier and Marlisa Tiedemann, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 2, 2019, the committee continued its examination of the subject matter of those elements contained in Division 25 of Part 4 of Bill C-97, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 19, 2019 and other measures.

The deputy chair made a statement.
Mr. Makinaw and Mr. Lewis each made a statement and answered questions.
At 1:47 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 1:53 p.m., the committee resumed.
At 1:55 p.m., the chair, the Honourable Lillian Dyck, took the chair.
Mr. Serson and Mr. Coburn each made a statement and answered questions.
At 2:36 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 2:58 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Watson and Mr. Tremblay each made a statement and answered questions.
At 3:34 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 3:53 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Watson and Mr. Tremblay continued to answer questions.
At 4:28 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
