The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Larry Smith, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Ataullahjan, Cools, Dagenais, Marshall, Mitchell, Mockler, Pratte and Smith (9).

In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, the committee continued its study on the federal government's multi-billion dollar infrastructure funding program. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 7.)

Georges Chartier, Chief Asset and Project Management Officer (by video conference).

City of Fredericton:

Michael O'Brien, Mayor.

City of St. John's:

Dennis O'Keefe, Mayor.

City of Victoria:

Jason Johnson, City Manager;

Susanne Thompson, Director of Finance.

Mr. McNeil, Mr. O'Brien, Mr. O'Keefe and Mr. Johnson made statements and, with Mr. Chartier and Ms. Thompson, answered questions.

At 11:17 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
