The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 1:04 p.m. to examine the subject matter of those elements contained in Division 2 of Part 4 of Bill C-15, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 22, 2016 and other measures; and for the consideration of a draft agenda (future business).

Senator Daniel Lang (Chair) in the chair.

The Chair: Colleagues, I call this meeting to order to expedite some business that has been brought forward from the chamber for the consideration of the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence, which in turn has to be dealt with by the Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs.

I would like the committee to move a motion that the Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence receive the order of the Senate to examine the subject matter of elements contained in Division 2, Part 4, of Bill C-15. Can somebody move that motion?

Senator Manning: So moved.

The Chair: It is moved by Senator Manning. We don't need a seconder.

All in agreement?

Hon. Senators: Agreed.

The Chair: This will be delegated to the Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs. Is it agreed?

Hon. Senators: Agreed.
