The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met in camera this day at 1:05 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Mobina S. B. Jaffer, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Dagenais, Jaffer, Kenny, Lankin, P.C., Moncion, Saint-Germain and White (8).

In attendance: Marcy Galipeau, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, April 21, 2016, the committee continued its study on issues related to the Defence Policy Review presently being undertaken by the government. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee proceeded to the consideration of a draft report.

At 2:25 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 2:42 p.m., the committee resumed.

At 4:06 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the deputy chair.
