The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 11:46 a.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Gwen Boniface, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Boniface, Dagenais, Gold, Griffin, McIntyre, McPhedran, Oh, Pratte and Richards (10).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Busson (1).
In attendance: Tanya Dupuis and Christina Yeung, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-71, An Act to amend certain Acts and Regulations in relation to firearms. The minister made a statement and, together with Mr. Koops, Ms. Paquette, Mr. Mackinnon and Ms. Budgell, answered questions.
At 1:44 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
