The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 5:15 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cordy, Cormier, Eaton, Eggleton, P.C., Frum, Mégie, Ogilvie, Omidvar, Richards, Seidman and Stewart Olsen (11).
In attendance: Sonya Norris, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-277, An Act providing for the development of a framework on palliative care in Canada. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No 30.)

Shawn Chirrey, Senior Manager.
Alzheimer Society of Canada:
Pauline Tardif, Chief Executive Officer.
The chair made a statement.
Ms. Masotti and Ms. Tardif each made a statement and, together with Mr. Chirrey, answered questions.
At 6:12 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
