The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cormier, Dawson, Duffy, Eggleton, P.C., MacDonald, Saint-Germain and Tkachuk (7).
Other senator present: The Honourable Senator Gold (1).
In attendance: Jed Chong and Nicole Sweeney, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the committee continued its examination of the regulatory and technical issues related to the deployment of connected and automated vehicles. At 7:33 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 7:35 p.m., the committee resumed.
At 7:35 p.m., the deputy chair, the Honourable Senator MacDonald, took the chair.
The deputy chair made a statement.
Mr. Kovacs, Mr. Hohman and Mr. Stein made statements and, together with Mr. Fiorino, answered questions.
At 8:20 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
