Pursuant to the order of the Senate of March 30, 2021, the Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day by videoconference at 6:33 p.m. [ET], the chair, the Honourable Michael L. MacDonald, presiding. This meeting is considered to have taken place in the parliamentary precinct.

Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Cormier, Dasko, Dawson, Forest-Niesing, Griffin, MacDonald, Miville-Dechêne, Simons, White and Woo (11).

Other senator present by videoconference: The Honourable Senator Carignan, P.C. (1).

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, the committee continued its examination of Bill S-225, An Act to amend the Copyright Act (remuneration for journalistic works).
