The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 11:30 a.m., in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Peter M. Boehm, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Al Zaibak, Boehm, Busson, Coyle, Gerba, Greene, Harder, P.C., MacDonald, Ravalia and Woo (10).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Adler and Deacon (Ontario) (2).

Participating in the meeting: Brian Hermon and Zachariah Black, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its study on foreign relations and international trade generally. (Topic: The situation in Sudan)

Julie Desloges, Deputy Director, International Humanitarian Assistance Division.

Caroline Delany made a statement and, together with Giles Norman, Pamela Moore and Julie Desloges, answered questions.

At 12:27 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 12:32 p.m., the committee resumed.
