The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 11:30 a.m., in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Peter M. Boehm, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boehm, Boniface, Busson, Coyle, Greene, Harder, P.C., Housakos, MacDonald, Ravalia and Woo (10).
Participating in the meeting: Nadia Faucher, Analyst, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 24, 2022, the committee continued its study on the Canadian foreign service and elements of the foreign policy machinery within Global Affairs Canada.

At 12:27 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 12:28 p.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft report.
It was agreed that committee members’ staff be allowed to remain in the room during the in camera portion of the meeting.
At 12:47 p.m., the committee resumed in public.
It was agreed that the following special study budget application for a fact-finding mission in Europe (London, Oslo and Berlin) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration.
