The Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources met this day at 6:30 p.m. in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Paul J. Massicotte, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Anderson, Arnot, Audette, Lankin, P.C., Massicotte, Miville-Dechêne, Seidman, Sorensen and Verner, P.C. (9).

Participating in the meeting: Sam Banks and Jesse Good, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 24, 2022, the committee continued its study on emerging issues related to the committee’s mandate. (Topic: Hydrogen Energy)

Julia Levin, National Climate Program Manager.

Association of Canadian Port Authorities:

Debbie Murray, Senior Director, Policy and Regulatory Affairs.

As an individual:

Robert W. Howarth, Professor David R. Atkinson Ecology and Environmental Biology, Cornell University.

Julia Levin, Robert W. Howarth and Debbie Murray each made a statement and answered questions.

At 7:06 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:28 p.m., the senators dispersed due to there being no simultaneous interpretation.
